Bulkley Valley Credit Union Selects Sprout & Harvest to Lead Website Migration from Forge to WordPress

Vancouver, BC

Sprout & Harvest is proud to announce that Bulkley Valley Credit Union (BVCU) has chosen Sprout & Harvest to migrate their public website from the Central 1 Forge platform to WordPress.

Following Central 1’s 2024 announcement to wind down its Forge digital banking platform, credit unions across Canada have been reevaluating their digital strategies and reviewing their content management system (CMS) options. As shared in Sprout & Harvest’s recent white paper, “Is WordPress the Right Platform for Your Credit Union Public Website?”, WordPress makes sense for many credit unions, especially those with relatively straightforward digital needs.

Having partnered with BVCU to design and launch their current site in 2022, Sprout & Harvest was a natural fit to lead this next chapter. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with Bulkley Valley Credit Union as they transition to WordPress,” said Ron Cann, Founder & CEO of Sprout & Harvest. “This move not only allows for greater flexibility, but also gives BVCU direct control, which empowers the team at BVCU to more easily evolve and update their public website.”

Forty-three percent of all websites are powered by WordPress today (Source: w3techs). That track record, combined with its ease of use and ease of integration with third party tools, were key selection criteria for BVCU.

“We want to ensure our members experience a secure, modern and responsive website,” said Jana Lukasek, CEO of Bulkley Valley Credit Union. “With WordPress, we gain a flexible, easy-to-update platform that will enable us to continually engage with our members and community.”

This migration reinforces Sprout & Harvest’s role as a strategic marketing and digital partner for credit unions navigating this change. “We’re honoured to support BVCU as they embrace the next evolution in their digital experience,” said Cann. “And we’re ready to support other credit unions through this evolution, whether it’s to WordPress or other CMS platforms.”
